The remote download function allows your terminal to connect to the Moneris host to download the latest version of the terminal software. The latest software would include any new features supported by your terminal. There are two methods of performing a remote download:
· Automated remote download (ARD): An automated remote download is initiated by the Moneris host. At a scheduled date and time, the host can communicate with your terminal to download the latest version of the terminal software. You do not have to do anything on the terminal to start the download. Moneris will contact you in advance to schedule the download. For more information about this process and what you need to do to ensure a successful update of your terminal software, refer to the Auto-Remote Download Checklist located at www.moneris.com/en/Support/Downloadable-Guides/Self-Install-Guides.
· Manually-initiated remote download (MRD): This process requires you to start the remote download yourself. Follow the instructions below if:
· your scheduled automated remote download (ARD) failed, and you would like to manually initiate the download
· you have not been contacted by Moneris to do an ARD, but you would like to see if your terminal can be updated to the latest version of the software
