Configuring Communications

The terminal can communicate with the Moneris Host over Ethernet and dial Communication.

Click on the method of communication your terminal will use and follow the configuration instructions:

1.  Configure the terminal's communications parameters as follows:

a.  Ethernet Communication (select one as appropriate to your setup):

Before you set up your terminal to communicate with the Moneris host over high-speed Ethernet, please review the Moneris IP Readiness Checklist (available at moneris.com/checklist) and ensure that your Ethernet service and your Ethernet network are ready to support your terminal.

• Public Internet - Dynamic. IMPORTANT: If you are using dynamic IP over a public network, no configuration is required since this is the terminal's default method of communication.

• Private Internet - Dynamic

• Public Internet - Static

• Private Internet - Static

b.  Dial Communication and dial backup (select one as appropriate to your set up)

·         Dial communication:  Set up dial as your default method of communication.

·         Dial backup:  If Ethernet communication goes down during a transaction, the terminal will use dial communication to perform the transaction  (if dial backup is available).  The terminal will then attempt to use Ethernet communication for the next transaction.
