If you enter an incorrect password four times in a row, the PASSWORD LOCKED CALL SERVICE CENTRE message will appear and the manual entry function will be disabled. The admin password unlock timer begins running in the background (unless the password has been locked 3 times in a row).
Choose one of the following options:
· To continue processing transactions without using manual entry, refer to the steps below.
· Remember that the unlock timer is running and the password will be unlocked when the timer expires. At that point, the password is unlocked automatically and you can continue using manual entry.
· If you wish to unlock the password now, refer to the section below "To unlock the password now".
To continue processing transactions without manual entry:
1. Clear the PASSWORD LOCKED message.
a. Press the key.
The transaction is cancelled and the CANCELLED message appears.
b. Press the key.
The merchant copy of the receipt prints and the MERCHANT COPY message appears.
c. Press the green key.
The customer copy of the receipt prints and the GIVE CUSTOMER COPY message appears.
d. Press the key.
The READY screen appears.
2. Re-start your transaction from the beginning.
1. Decide on a new password because you will be prompted to enter a new password immediately after unlocking the current password:
· The password must be 5 to 10 numbers.
· Do not use consecutive numbers such as 12345 or 98765, repeating numbers such as 22233, or any of your last 4 passwords.
· You CAN re-use your existing password or any of your previous passwords.
· You will have 60 seconds to enter the new password.
2. Contact Customer Care. You will need to provide 3 pieces of information:
· The date the password was locked
· The 8-digit terminal ID
· The 4-digit code displayed on the PASSWORD LOCKED CALL SERVICE CENTRE screen.
3. Press the key.
The ENTER UNLOCK KEY PROVIDED BY SERVICE CENTRE prompt appears.
4. Enter the unlock key provided by Customer Care and press the key.
The ENTER NEW 5-10 DIGIT ADMIN PSWD prompt appears.
5. Key in the password you decided on in step 1, whether new or existing, and press the key.
The RE-ENTER NEW ADMIN PASSWORD prompt appears.
6. Key in the password again and press the key.
The terminal briefly displays ADMIN PASSWORD UNLOCKED SUCCESSFULLY, or ADMIN PASSWORD CHANGED SUCCESSFULLY, followed by the SECURITY menu.
7. To return to the READY screen to process transactions, press the key twice.
