The magnetic stripe reader (MSR) is located in a slot on the right side of the PINpad. When a debit or credit card is swiped on the PINpad, the MSR reads the information encoded on the card's magnetic stripe.
To swipe a card, the magnetic stripe must be down and facing towards the PINpad.
Cards can be swiped from top to bottom or bottom to top.
