Reverting to Dynamic Public IP Communication

Use the instructions below only when you have configured your terminal to another method of communicating with the Moneris host and wish to revert to using dynamic IP over a public network (the Internet).

To navigate through the menus:

- Scroll down: press
the key to move the highlight bar down.
- Scroll up: press
the key to move the highlight bar up.
- Select a
highlighted item: press the  key.

For information about the keys...

 

1. Set the COMMS TYPE parameter as ETHERNET.

    a. From the READY screen, press the key twice and key in 08 and press the key.
       The GENERAL PARAMETERS menu appears.

    b. Press the key to select COMMS TYPE.
       The COMMUNICATION TYPE menu appears.

    c. Scroll, if needed, to ETHERNET and press the key.
       The GENERAL PARAMETERS menu re-appears.  

    d. Press the key once.
      The MAIN MENU appears.

2. Set the HOST SETUP parameter as PUBLIC.

    a. On the MAIN MENU, scroll down to CONFIGURATION, and press the  key.
       The CONFIG FUNCS menu appears.

    b. Scroll down to HOST SETUP and press the  key.
       If the SWIPE ADMIN CARD prompt appears, swipe the POS admin card.
       The HOST SETUP menu appears.

    c. Scroll, if needed, to PUBLIC and press the key.
     The HOST SETUP menu re-appears.  

    d. Scroll, if needed, to Production and press the key.
       When TCP HOST CONNECTION OK PRESS OK appears, press the key.  
      If HOST CONNECTION FAILED appears, press the key.
       The READY screen appears  

3. Set the ETHERNET TYPE parameter as DYNAMIC:

    a. At the READY screen, press the  key.
       The MAIN MENU appears.

    b. Scroll down to CONFIGURATION, and press the  key.
       The CONFIG FUNCS menu appears.

    c. Scroll down to BASE CONFIG, and press the  key.

        If the SWIPE ADMIN CARD prompt appears, swipe the POS admin card.

        The BASE CONFIG menu appears.

    d. Scroll down to BASE IP SETUP, and press the  key.
       The BASE IP SETUP menu appears.

    e. Press the  key to select ETHERNET SETUP.

    f. Press the  key to select ETHERNET TYPE.

    g. Scroll down to DYNAMIC, and press the  key.

    h. Press the key once.
       The BASE IP SETUP menu appears.

4. Test the terminal's connectivity to the Moneris Host:

      a. From the BASE IP SETUP menu, press the key once.

      b. When the TCP HOST CONNECTION OK PRESS OK prompt appears, press the key to return to the READY screen.
         If REBOOT TERMINAL appears, wait while the terminal restarts.
