Purchase with Tip Entry Disabled

From the READY screen:

To navigate through the menus:

- Scroll down: press the key to move the highlight bar down.
- Scroll up: press the key to move the highlight bar up.
- Select a highlighted item: press the  key.

For information about the keys...

1. Key in the amount of the Purchase, and press the  key.

If the ENTER CLERK ID entry screen appears ...

If the ENTER INVOICE NO entry screen appears ...

The SWIPE OR INSERT CARD prompt appears on the terminal (or appears on the external PINpad if attached).

2. Enter the card as follows:

a. Swipe the card on the terminal (or external PINpad if attached).

If the ENTER LAST 4 DIGITS entry screen appears on the terminal, key in the last 4 digits of the Card number, and press the  key.

b.  Continue below at step 3.

a. You or the cardholder must insert the card into the terminal chip reader (or external PINpad chip reader if attached) .  

IMPORTANT: Leave the chip card in the reader for the entire transaction.

a.  The cardholder taps (or waves) their card or mobile device (e.g. mobile phone, tablet, e-reader, key fob, watch, mobile tag, etc) over the terminal's or PINpad's internal contactless reader (i.e., the display screen).

The terminal or PINpad beeps.

The cardholder may be required to enter a passcode on their mobile device.

b.  Continue below at step 3.

a. Key in the Card number, and press the  key.

The ENTER EXPIRY DATE entry screen appears on the terminal .

b. Key in the Expiry date, and press the  key.

If ENTER ADMIN PASSWORD appears, key in your admin password.

If the SWIPE ADMIN CARD prompt appears on the terminal, swipe the POS admin card.

If MAIL/TEL options appear on the terminal ...

If the TAKE MANUAL IMPRINT OF CARD AND PRESS OK prompt appears on the terminal ...

c.  Continue below at step 3.

 

3. Please wait while the terminal processes the transaction; follow the terminal prompt that appears:

If the CUSTOMER PRESS OK TO CONTINUE prompt appears ...

If the CONTINUE ON PINPAD prompt appears ...

If the ENTER PROMO CODE entry screen appears...

If the ENTER INVOICE NO entry screen appears...

If the ENTER XXX AMOUNT entry screen appears ( XXX is the tax type, e.g. GST) ...

If an APPROVED message appears, go to step 4.

4.  When an APPROVED message appears (see list below)  on the terminal or PINpad, process any receipts that are printed.
